Redesign of Arrival Area

Description

In 2012, the Jubilee Hills International Centre, the exclusive recreational club of the prestigious Jubilee Hills housing society, commissioned Studio One to revamp and give the club a fresh identity.

The original clubhouse was a rather unremarkable structure, featuring a semi-circular double-height verandah and an awkward RCC canopy that served as the entrance portico.

To enhance the space, the project preserved the lush canopy of towering trees, while introducing a new gate to the north-east. A sweeping circular driveway was designed, with a contemporary fountain sculpture at its center. An informal reception area, complete with a guest waiting lounge, was set within the rich tropical landscape at the drop-off level.

A striking, curved tensile canopy was added to the building, creating a dramatic and soft architectural edge. A delicate framework of decorative cast aluminum was introduced midway up the tall pillars, accentuating the open lounge seating on the upper deck.

With the complete absence of glass, the verdant greenery surrounding the space becomes the focal point, offering a seamless connection between nature and the swanky club lounge.
